The Primary Industry also know as Extraction Industry is not the most popular industry because of its hard labor and work conditions. It is the most important because it extracts the raw materials needed for manufacturing which gives jobs to people in the Secondary Industry. The reason it is called "the Primary Industry" is because it is the first part in the whole process of getting a product. The Primary Industry employs 5% of the Canadian population. The most common raw minerals are the ones extracted from the earth surface. Jobs that fall under this are mining(most common), forestry, farming, and fishing.
Secondary Industry
The Secondary Industry is also known as the Manufacturing Industry. The Secondary Industry makes materials that are extracted from the Primary Industry and creates a product's for the consumer this is why its known as the "Manufacturing Industry". The reason why its called a 'Secondary Industry' is because it is the second part of the process in selling products to consumers. The products are then sold to different stores that are sold by people working in a Tertiary Industry. 22% of the Canadian population is provided with jobs in the secondary industry. The reason it is the second most popular industry is because the factories are close to larger cities where products are of easy reach and are closer to home.
Tertiary Industry
The Tertiary Industry is the most popular industry in Canada. This Industry is also known as the Service Industry. The reason for this is because the industry only deals with goods being sold in a community or outside community area. The "Tertiary Industry" is the last stop for the product. 73% of Canada's occupations are in the Tertiary Industry. The reason for this is because the jobs the people work at are close to home, people are very well payed ,and there is no hard labor required. Some common jobs in the service industry are Cashiers, Store Managers, and Chefs. This industry doesn't need to make products or get raw materials but instead relies on the first two industries to enhance it for them.
