The confederation of Canada was formed July 1, 1867. Confederation was the process in which the British Colonies of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick were united into one country Canada. Upon confederation Canada was divided into four provinces: Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. But today Canada has expanded with ten provinces(Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan) and three territories (Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon).
Before Canada was in confederation it was a British Colony and before that it belonged to the french. The reason that Canada was a British Colony and not a part of the French is because after the seven year war the French decided to give the land has a peace treaty to the British. |
The Prime Minister and his PartyThe current Prime Minister of Canada as of 2016 is Justin Trudeau. (His father Pierre Trudeau was also Prime Minister back in 1968.) Justin Trudeau runs for the Liberal Party of Canada which believes in equal opportunity for the people an example is regardless of how a person looks or their gender they will get paid for how the do there job which gives plenty of job opportunity in Canada.

Parliament and what it doseThe Canadian Parliament is made up of the Queen, the Senate And the House of Commons. They work together to make the laws for our country. The highest group is made up of of the Queen, the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and the departments of government. The actual Parliament building is located in Canada's national capital,Ottawa.
